Aunque Panorama para matar fue en todos los aspectos una de las películas más criticadas de Bond, incluyó una banda sonora muy impactante a cargo de John Barry.

La canción inicial escrita (con Barry) e interpretada por Duran Duran fue una de las más emocionantes y se convirtió en un éxito internacional – tanto en tiendas de discos como en la MTV, donde el primer vídeo musical de 007 hizo su debut.
