Las mejores melodías aparecidas en la decimooctava aventura oficial de James Bond y el álbum que originaron
Los fans de Bond se alegraron al oír la banda sonora de El mañana nunca muere, compuesta por David Arnold. John Barry originariamente tenía planeado ser él quien hiciera la banda sonora, pero no llegó a un acuerdo con el estudio. Sin embargo, Arnold superó todas las expectativas, proporcionando una banda sonora muy enérgica y atmosférica, que es una de las mejores que se han escuchado en los últimos años. También rinde homenaje a Barry con algunos temas que, intencionadamente, recuerdan a los de las primeras películas Bond. Arnold, un veterano fan de la música Bond de Barry, produjo simultáneamente un tributo musical a 007 muy bien recibido titulado Shaken and Stirred, que incluía intrigantes versiones rock alternativas de la música Bond clásica.
El mañana nunca muere también incluye dos canciones muy impactantes: ‘Tomorrow Never Dies‘ de Sheryl Crow y ‘Surrender‘ de k d lang. Ambas son grandes logros, y la canción principal recibió una nominación para el Golden Globe. Cada canción – junto a la banda sonora de Arnold – podría, según piensa mucha gente, haber sido nominada para un Óscar.

La compañía discográfica Polydor, que editaba el CD con la banda sonora original de Tomrrow Never Dies, organizó un divertido concurso en el que se sorteaba nada menos que un reloj Omega, con el certificado de autenticidad personal correspondiente. Además había 25 premios de consolación con el CD de la banda sonora de la película. Los participantes debían enviar todas las funciones del kit de supervivencia que existen o podrían existir dentro del reloj Omega de James Bond.
